The remove practice in Uster is a new addition to the SPP network. What makes this partnership special – and what ‘quality over quantity’ means in sports rehabilitation.

From May 2026, remove will officially be part of the Swiss Physio Partner network. What really makes a physiotherapy practice special? Not its size. Not the number of treatment rooms. At the remove practice in Uster, you feel it straight away: energy. Movement. Expertise. Here, sport and exercise are a way of life.

A practice that doesn’t just treat patients, but lives and breathes sport

Physiotherapy, orthopaedics and traditional Chinese medicine all under one roof. We also have a clear focus on sports rehabilitation, from grassroots to elite sport.

What makes it special is that remove works closely with sports clubs in the region. Injuries are not just treated, but fully rehabilitated. The Mulligan concept forms the technical core of this approach. Manual therapy, put into practice.

And that doesn’t just apply to athletes. Fall prevention and restoring mobility in older age are just as much a part of everyday life. Because quality of life matters, whatever your level of fitness.

Three things that remove brings to the network

What exactly does remove bring to the SPP network?

  1. Expertise. Barbara Tuma, founder and long-standing director of the practice, is a recognised expert in the Mulligan concept and advanced training in sports physiotherapy. With more than 20 years’ experience as a therapist and lecturer, she will serve as a specialist lecturer at the planned SPP Academy. This means knowledge that strengthens the entire network.
  2. Expertise that sets the standard. The remove clinic specialises in sports rehabilitation of the highest standard, catering for everyone from amateur athletes to elite sportspeople. Our close collaboration with sports clubs in the region is no coincidence, but the result of years of dedicated professional work.
  3. An interdisciplinary approach, which is rare. Physiotherapy, sports medicine and traditional Chinese medicine all under one roof – you don’t find that just anywhere. This combination is a model from which other practices in the network can learn.

Why was this the right time to enter into a partnership with SPP?

For Barbara Tuma, it was clear from the very first conversation: this isn’t just about organisational matters. It’s about mutual respect, reliability and a shared vision.

Their verdict is clear: «No empty promises – SPP keeps its word.» The process was accompanied by Schmid + Partner Ltd – Business Advisors specialising in succession planning and strategy for Swiss SMEs. Their guidance ensured that the path to partnership was professional and clearly structured. The result: a decision based on professionalism, trust and clarity.

What does this mean for you as a practice owner?

If you’re thinking about what the future of your practice should look like, the story of remove has an important message for you.

A good succession plan protects what you have built up. And gives you the freedom to decide for yourself how you want to move forward. As in the case of Barbara Tuma, for example, as part of a network that offers you support, opportunities for exchange and scope for further development.

The owner of remove remains actively involved in the practice. She passes on her knowledge and plays an active role in shaping the future of movement therapy. This is succession as it should be.

The conclusion is clear: Good networks don’t grow through numbers. They grow through practices that bring something to the table. The remove practice brings expertise, a positive attitude and a dynamic energy. This makes the SPP network even stronger.
