Why Swiss Physio Partner exists: The story behind the network

Four friends, one shared conviction: Swiss movement therapy needs new forms of collaboration. With Swiss Physio Partner, they are creating a network that strengthens owners, therapists and patients in the long term.

The idea was not born in the boardroom, but outside in nature. More precisely, while ice swimming. Julian and Damian have been friends for over ten years and share a passion for fitness, nutrition and health. However, the decisive impetus for founding the company came from everyday practice life: Julian experienced first-hand how his friend Philipp, co-practice owner and husband of a physiotherapist, was struggling with administrative paperwork, unresolved succession issues and the increasing shortage of specialists.

Julian combined these challenges with the experience of Damian, who had already established the largest network of small animal medicine in Germany with over 100 locations. Together, they asked themselves whether a similar model could also work in Swiss exercise therapy.

After numerous discussions with therapists and practice owners, it was clear that there was a great need. They answered the question «Do you really have to remain a lone fighter as a practice owner?» with a clear no. Shortly afterwards, Christian joined them as a financial expert and the four of them founded Swiss Physio Partner (SPP) as an answer to the questions that keep many practice owners awake at night.

Four heads, one goal

The four entrepreneurs Damian, Julian, Philipp and Christian complement each other as business partners: Damian, the strategist, keeps an eye on the big picture and is responsible for key topics such as HR and marketing. Julian acts as a networker and supports the partners by analysing individual requirements, finding solutions and planning measures. To ensure that the reality of the practice is never lost sight of, Philipp is on board as a physiotherapy expert. He knows the daily challenges of the practice and is constantly looking for operational improvements. The team is completed by Christian, the numbers expert. With his many years of experience in the healthcare sector, he ensures financial stability and security.

Already over 20 partners

Around a year after it was founded, SPP is already represented at almost two dozen locations. This number is set to double by the end of 2026. The decisive factor for a partnership is not just strategy, but above all trust. Julian describes it like this: «When a practice owner signs up with us, uncertainty should give way to a clear perspective.» An example from practice shows what this added value looks like in concrete terms: before joining forces with SPP, an owner placed a traditional job advert, but with no response. After joining the network, SPP developed a targeted social media campaign. Over 150 applications were received within two months. All positions were filled and a pool of applicants was also built up. «Sometimes it's just about showing off what you already have,» adds Damian.

Rethinking the industry together

The SPP founders« ambition goes beyond growth. In five years» time, they envisage an industry in which therapists are once again proud of their profession - supported by appreciation, fair remuneration models and new development prospects. They consciously see change as an opportunity. Philipp puts it in a nutshell: "There is great potential in the changes to sustainably improve the quality of life of patients, employees and practice owners."
